The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has agreed to play limited overs series in neighboring Sri Lanka but they have to get government approval because of Coronavirus.
According to a report, a bilateral series has been agreed between the BCCI and the Sri Lanka Cricket Board.
This series is to be held in August. However, Indian players will need practice before this.
On Tuesday, the BCCI has confirmed that Sri Lanka Cricket has started preparing for the series.
According to CricketNext, the Sri Lankan Cricket Board has to get approval from the country’s Sports Ministry for the resumption of bilateral cricket series in the country.
The Indian team can play the three-match ODI series and the T20 series of the same number of matches on the Sri Lanka tour .
The series was earlier scheduled for June but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Once the Sri Lankan government gives permission for the Indian team to tour, the SLC will start working on the series schedule and other things.
The report also said that the Sri Lankan Board also hoped that the series could be held with some spectators at the stadium, while ensuring social distancing norms.
Meanwhile Sri Lanka is also looking forward to hosting the Asia Cup this year.
The tournament is originally scheduled to be held in Pakistan, but the BCCI has made it clear that the Indian team will not play there.
In such a situation, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) chief Shammi Silva has said that the Pakistan Cricket Board is hosting the event of the SLC and the Pakistan Cricket Board is ready for this in view of the epidemic, because there is a very small number of coronavirus cases.
